Playing Catch Up

I've been MIA lately, and not on purpose. Life got busy, which is one of the greatest excuses of probably all time. In the past month that I haven't written, I've faced a lot of changes. I've embraced April with a lot of newness.

Three weeks ago, I finally started my new job. It involves a lot of writing and hands-on experience with different products for this company. It's odd, going from a job where I was pretty miserable to working someplace where my skills are utilized and the people are awesome. My coworkers are decades closer to my age, and are experiencing similar things to me. They often arrange happy hours, recommend podcasts to each other, and have a healthy work-life separation.

It's a crazy breath of fresh air.

Then, two weeks ago, I moved into my apartment. I'm taking over someone's lease, so I'll only be here until August, but it's so nice to have a space of my own again. I'm eternally grateful to my parents for putting up with me in the squishy in-between time, and I love them both dearly, but it's so outrageously amazing to have some independence. The entire complex is incredibly dog friendly, and taking the pooch out for a potty break also allows her to interact with neighbors (and allows me to make friends!).

Speaking of dogs... last week, I adopted a puppy. She's a sweet little corgi mix. Only nine weeks old, it's a big beautiful world out there for her. It's funny taking her and Keltie out for walks together--Keltie is nearly seven, and an old hand at the world. The puppy, who's been named Tonks (short for Nymphadora Tonks from Harry Potter), is fresh eyed at everything. New dogs, strange children, passing cars...

So now I'm playing catch up with this handy blog. I'm sorry I've been away, but expect some new content this week. Changes are happening, and I can't wait to share them!
